How To Bring Balance Into Your Life With Chakra Balancing

If you’ve been feeling out of sorts or just not yourself lately, you’re not alone. Whether it’s because of something happening astrologically, the result of past trauma or bad experiences, or for reasons unknown, being unbalanced doesn’t feel great.

Instead of staying in bed all day with the covers over your head, learning how to rebalance your chakras can give you at least a little bit of your power back. Stick with us here at Chiji, as we give you all of the tools and tips you need to be able to ground yourself and realign your chakras.

A Quick Refresher Course on Chakras

Before learning about the details of chakra balancing, we want to refresh your memory on a few basics. It’s important that you know what it is you’re balancing before you try to do it!

On a very, very simplified level, chakras are essentially energy centers that are located in the middle of the body. There are seven of them total, and each has its own specific qualities and areas of the body that it controls (more on that in a second).

The main goal of the chakras is to help connect the physical body with the metaphysical, universal life force that is constantly swirling around us. They are considered “vortexes,” and they are portals that allow energy both into and out of the body.

Chakras also vibrate (or spin, depending on who you ask) at their own specific frequency, which is how they can impact the body systems differently. Why this is important to the discussion on chakra balancing is that the ease and speed with which it vibrates can directly affect whether the systems and qualities that it rules are being suppressed or stimulated.

Chakra 101

As we mentioned, there are seven chakras that control the body. They start at the base of the spine, which is considered the first chakra, and travel in a straight line up the crown of the head (the seventh chakra). Here’s a quick overview:

  • Root chakra (the first chakra) - Located at the base of your spine, around your tailbone. Associated with the color red, and represents your power base and security. When you feel grounded, you have your root chakra to thank.
  • Sacral chakra (the second chakra) - Located about two inches underneath your belly button. Associated with the color orange, and governs your emotional responses to things as well as your creativity. It may also be where trauma is held in the body.
  • Solar plexus chakra (the third chakra) - Located between your belly button and your breast bone. Associated with the color yellow, and represents your self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • Heart chakra (the fourth chakra) - Located in the center of your chest. Associated with the color green, and governs your ability to love, feel compassion and empathy, and move in the world with kindness.
  • Throat chakra (the fifth chakra) - Located in your throat. Associated with the color blue, and represents your ability to communicate in all avenues and express yourself.
  • Third eye chakra (the sixth chakra) - Located in the center of your forehead. Associated with the color indigo, and represents wisdom, intuition, and connection with your higher consciousness.
  • Crown chakra (the seventh chakra) - Located at the very top of your head (and partially above it). Associated with the color violet, and connecting you with your highest level of consciousness and the universe as a whole.

Why Chakra Balancing Matters

Imbalances to any of your chakras can have devastating consequences, both physically and emotionally. Becoming more attuned to the way that you experience your chakras can also help you be able to know when they may be blocked or out of balance so that you can take action.

Ultimately, chakra balancing can really impact all areas of your life. Balanced, open chakras attract positive energy to your life, each in a different yet uniquely beautiful way. If you’ve ever heard people talk about vibrating on a high frequency, they are speaking about their chakras and the energy that they can pull toward you.

Knowing which of your chakras are out of balance takes a certain level of mindfulness

How To Perform a Chakra Balancing

Just like each of us vibrates on our own, one-of-a-kind level, every chakra balancing needs to be performed at one too. That means you need to take a trial and error approach and have an open mind, trying various methods until you’re able to find one that works best for you.

Instead of getting angry at yourself if a certain method doesn’t resonate with you (and your chakras), move on to the next one and try again without self-judgment. When you find the right chakra balancing, you’ll know it… and it will change your life.

Meditation With Crystals

For people who aren’t experienced with chakra balancing, or are new to the entire idea of chakras, meditation with crystals can be just the thing they need. In addition to each chakra having its own color associated with it, there are also crystals that are thought to work specifically on each to open them up and clear them out.

Amethyst, for example, is correlated with the third eye chakra. Try one of our crystal sets (we recommend the Peace + Positive Vibes Crystal Energy Set) if you’re unsure where to start. Simply place the crystal over the chakra you’re focusing on and let it work its magic.

Practice Visualization

One of the best ways to be able to perform your own chakra balancing without needing to use tools is to work on your visualization techniques. In fact, visualization is powerful in every single avenue of your life, and it’s the first step in manifesting what you want in your life.

Picture each of your chakras, one at a time, focusing on how they feel and “look” to you. Then, imagine the fog lifting from around them, and picture it clearing out entirely, leaving your chakra crystal clear and open. It can also help to use the color that is associated with each chakra to clear it out.

You can also use this same technique to perform a “diagnostic” check of your chakras. Instead of working on clearing them out and balancing them, first, take the time to examine them one at a time. This can help you be able to more easily recognize when they are blocked, as well.

Try Sound Healing

Although the idea of sound healing has become trendy, the basic concept behind it has been around for centuries. In fact, sound healing as a whole has been extensively studied and shown to have proven benefits like reducing anxiety, tension, anger, and depression.

When it comes to chakra balancing, the vibrations created by using different frequencies of sound can work to clear out blockages and support a healthy, balanced energy flow. This can be achieved with a few different types of sound, like gongs and crystal singing bowls.

If you don’t have access to those tools, you can use chanting. The frequency of your voice can also impact the vibrational energy of the chakras, especially if you know how to use it appropriately. Some people use specific mantras, while others just hum. You’ll find out what works for you after a little practice and flexibility.

Start Your Day Out With Chakra Balancing

If you really want to make a difference with your awareness level, start your day out with a little chakra balancing. Wake up a few minutes early, grab a cup of coffee and do some sun salutations before sitting down in quiet meditation. Each day, spend just a moment doing a full-body scan.

Move from the toes up to the top of the head, and take into account how all of your body feels, both physically and emotionally. Don’t judge yourself or have any expectations, just experience yourself and accept yourself where you are. Then, feel your body fill up with sunshine, clearing out any cobwebs and fog that may be surrounding your chakras and weighing you down.

This will help you not only learn more about yourself but also work on starting your day out on a positive note. This is the energy that you want to take with you into the rest of your day!

In Summary

Unbalanced chakras can make you feel out of whack, especially if there are some that are more blocked than others. Instead of giving up and giving in, learn how to perform a chakra balancing so that you can take your power back and reset yourself.

With open chakras, you really can do anything you set your mind to. Chiji has all of the tools you need to be able to live your best life, and you already have everything inside you to make that happen. Once you embrace that, the world is at your fingertips.
